At the start of this year I did the 75 day hard style challenge which was devised by Old Loser in Brooklyn. I vowed not to buy any new clothing for 75days and I didn’t. However twice I went to the charity shops with my friend and I picked up a couple of old things and some of them I am really happy with.
I hope you will forgive me the small white lie.
Leem Pink Shirt - Bought for £3
I touched this shirt and right away I knew it was high quality. Leem is a brand I had never heard of, but they are higher end and shirts tend to retail upwards of £100. The flat lay photo doesn’t do the shape of the shirt justice, it is really sculptural, large puffed sleeves and oversized in a good way. I wore it to work and I was so pleased with my outfit.
M&S Cashmere Jumper - Bought for £8
I am a sucker for 2nd hand good condition cashmere and when I came across this in my size it was a no brainer. I have worn it and it was so soft and comfortable and I felt great in it, I have no doubt it will be in a wardrobe for a long time to come.
Oliver Bonas Shirt - £5
I love Oliver Bonas so when I saw this new with tags satin shirt I thought it would be a good addition to my wardrobe. I have mentioned a few times that I am looking for sprinkles to add to my wardrobe full of basics. I haven’t worn it yet but I think it will look cracking with jeans and Birkenstocks when the weather gets slightly warmer.
COS Sheer T-shirt - Bought for £4
2nd hand COS is a holy grail, I love this t-shirt. Again its hard to see in these flat lays, but the whole of the white part of the t-shirt is very sheer including the whole of the back of the t-shirt. I love sheer tops - its a little bit ‘sexy’ without being OTT. I wore it this day with a black bra and I loved the way it looked, shame it was covered by a cardigan and a jacket. Looking forward to wearing it in the warmer weather to get the full effect.
Massimo Dutti Merino Jumper - £3.50
A bit like cashmere I struggle to say no to merino wool. I wore it above and I did like the colour combo but it was a bit of an awkward length. I think I will relegate it to lounge wear going forward.
Phase Eight Top - £3
I have been obsessed with button up all the way tops recently so when I saw this I thought it might be a good way to try it out for £3. On, however it wasn’t my favourite, it was a little to form fitting and with the outfit I wore it with was all a little too tonal. I will try again with it, but if I cant get it to work I will re-donate.
Vintage Sequin Knitted Top - £4
Again with the adding sprinkles - I am on the look out for a few more fancy tops to wear with jeans and this is perfect. I wore it when I had friends over for dinner, hence no shoes, anyway I loved it and cant wait to wear it again.
Michael Kors Ribbed Vest - £7
This is a basic ribbed top but it was brand new with tags and it was SO SOFT! I have worn it once, but I don’t seem to have a pic. I anticipate this being a workhorse in my wardrobe.
All in all I paid £37.50 and conservatively if they were all bought new it would have cost £500 if bought new.
I would love to know if you have found any preloved gems recently.
You found some gems! I love that rose pink top.
Great finds!
